I’m beginning to believe the theory that our phones are bugged and someone (Facebook) is listening to all our conversations. Just last week, my friend Melissa and I were at the gym and while we were walking out the guy there asked her about her No Bull shoes…. now, I have never searched for these brand shoes, never even talked about them to anyone other than that slight conversation. That afternoon, what popped up on my phone??? Ads for No Bull shoes… YIKES!
Conversation peeping aside, I am – quite frankly – getting sick of all the political bullshit and drama on Facebook. I firmly believe everyone has a right to their opinion. It is not my job to change their mind. It is our jobs (as civil, responsible, polite human beings) to be courteous to others and listen to what they have to say. We don’t all have to have the same beliefs or views (how boring of a world would that be?). But it seems that Facebook is turning all of us away from each other. There’s so many memes floating around with snide innuendos and subliminal messages. Are those things even fact checked before they’re posted? Heck No!!! But someone reads them and reposts them and then – BOOM – another dramatic series opens up on the Facebook.
So, I am going to ghost away from Facebook. Don’t get me wrong, I will still peer on there once in a while to see what my friends from far away are up to… but think of the time I will save by not mindlessly surfing for no good reason. I have to admit, there are some days that I am on it (stupidly) for almost an hour a day! OMG!
I am making myself a promise to take that hour and turn it into something healthy for me.
I’m talking about self-improvement…. it could include:
meditation | yoga | Beachbody workouts | hiking | biking | preparing healthy meals
Starting today. Wish me luck.
